My name is Débora Rodrigues and I am a mom of two young boys. I first started babywearing when my first child was born in 2004 and it soon became an indispensible part of my lifestyle. Whether I was walking with friends or around the house, my sling was my constant companion.
As with most parents, babywearing became a must-have-can't-live-without-it tool upon the birth of my second child three years later. Having a second child made me realize just how important it is to be able to do everything around the house without waiting until your partner gets home. My eldest child has needs too and babywearing allowed me the freedom to live my life without making any sacrifices. My 3 year old wants to play and the younger one is cranky? It's easy to grab some toys, manage a toddler on a trike while wearing the baby or hang the laundry while watching the oldest one in the yard. This freedom and this mobility was a lifesaver. Babywearing became an important part of my life, whether it was to go for a quick walk to the store, being back at work and needing to reconnect with my baby and get supper on the table, or even going on vacation with the family.
I strongly believe babywearing is an essential parenting tool regardless of your parenting style, and that is why I started Crown of Dreams in August of 2008. We all have wishes and dreams for our own kids, as well as for ourselves. We want to be able to be the best parents we can be- so why not use a carrier to make this time in your life shine, allowing you to add many more sparkling memories to your Crown of Dreams.
