Children grow and change so dramatically from their time as an infant through to toddlerhood. So much so, that it can become extremely hard to predict which carrier will suit you and your child. Renting carriers enables you to make smart purchasing decisions by trying carriers to determine which suit you best. At over 200 carriers, we also have the biggest rental library in Ottawa, including special occasion, fair trade, organic and hard to find carriers.

Most parents purchase two to three carriers throughout the first three years of their child’s life, spending almost $300 in some cases.

You’ve heard so much about all the different types of carriers out there and would love to try more than one? It can be a lot of fun to try the brands that we hear about so much on the internet and this is why they are available here. We have a wide variety of carriers made with luxurious fabrics such as silk, hemp or linen, as well as access to European & American brands that are not available in Canada!
We have a limited selection of babywearing coats, vests and ponchos for rent in our collection. These are available for rent for one month at a time, to truly give it a proper test drive.
First, check out my Hyena Cart store. It will have the most comprehensive listing of all my carriers and in each listing you'll find pictures, rental term length and prices (rental fee plus refundable damage deposit).
Once you’ve selected your carriers, send me an email and we’ll arrange an appointment. I meet all my clients one-on-one for rentals – this gives us a chance to inspect the carriers, fill out the rental form and lets me show you how to use the carrier. Each person renting a carrier from me will always be shown one carrying position, including tips and tricks on how to achieve that position ease.
I meet clients at Milkface Nursingwear (on Bank Street) and at the Extraordinary Baby Shoppe (Wellington Street) and I have hours at both locations one day a week.
At the end of the appointment, we’ll schedule a return time based on the rental term.
We’ll both inspect the carrier.
You will receive your damage deposit back unless the carrier has been:
- Damaged
- Lost
The mandatory deposit is there to ensure the return of the carrier in good working condition, or it enables me to replace the carrier immediately so that other parents who are interested in renting that carrier won't have to wait.
